6G WELDER

A 6G Welder is a high-skill pipe welder certified to weld fixed pipes set at a 45-degree angle without rotating the pipe. the position requires the welder to work through flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead angles all in a single.
The 6G Welder will be responsible for welding together metal components of various structures, pipelines, and equipment according to specific welding codes such as SMAW, GTAW, and MIG in the 6G position (fixed pipe at a 45-degree angle).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipes in the 6G position using approved welding procedures
Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols to determine the layout and specifications of weld joints
Prepare materials by cleaning, beveling, and aligning pipes before welding
Set up and operate welding equipment, selecting appropriate electrodes, filler materials, and settings for each job
Inspect welds visually and with gauges to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
Conduct repair welding as required, ensuring proper joint penetration and weld quality
Perform weld tests and prepare joints for inspection, including radiographic or ultrasonic testing
Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working condition
Follow all company safety policies and use proper protective gear at all times
Coordinate with supervisors, fitters, and quality control inspectors to ensure welding is completed accurately and on schedule
Maintain detailed records of completed work, weld maps, and material traceability

Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION: TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE OR DIPLOMA IN WELDING OR RELATED FIELD
EXPERIENCE: AT LEAST 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A PIPE WELDER, WITH PROVEN COMPETENCE IN 6G POSITION
