Senior Estimator – Piping
Location: Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia
Preferred Background: Saudi Aramco project experience
Duration : 3 - 6+ months with the possibility of long-term extension
Job Summary
Responsible for preparing accurate piping cost estimates and competitive tender proposals for oil and gas projects, ensuring complete scope coverage and alignment with project specifications and bid requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and scope of work to identify estimating requirements.
Prepare quantity take-offs from P&IDs, piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications.
Estimate costs for piping materials, fabrication, erection, welding, testing, insulation, painting, and associated activities.
Develop manpower, equipment, productivity, and subcontract cost estimates based on project execution requirements.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, ensuring technical and commercial alignment.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, and potential cost risks; prepare tender clarification queries.
Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and commercial teams to finalize estimates and proposals.
Maintain cost databases and provide estimate handover documentation to the project execution team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Extensive experience in piping estimation for oil and gas, petrochemical, or EPC projects, including senior-level estimating responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of piping materials, fabrication methods, installation practices, and construction productivity.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant estimating software.
Saudi Aramco project experience and familiarity with applicable client specifications are preferred.
