Job Summary
The Research & Fragrance Development Executive is responsible for researching fragrance trends, sourcing innovative fragrance ingredients, developing new perfume concepts, evaluating fragrance performance, and coordinating with fragrance houses, suppliers, and internal departments to create high-quality products that align with market demands and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Research global fragrance trends, consumer preferences, and emerging perfume categories.
Develop new fragrance concepts for perfumes, body sprays, bakhoor, air fresheners, and personal care products.
Coordinate with fragrance houses to develop and refine fragrance formulations.
Evaluate fragrance samples through olfactory testing and performance analysis.
Prepare fragrance briefs based on marketing and customer requirements.
Source new fragrance oils, aroma chemicals, and innovative raw materials from local and international suppliers.
Maintain fragrance libraries and sample inventories.
Conduct competitor benchmarking and analyze market launches.
Collaborate with Purchasing to source cost-effective fragrance ingredients.
Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure fragrance stability and consistency.
Coordinate with Production during pilot batches and commercial production.
Review fragrance compatibility with packaging materials and product bases.
Ensure compliance with IFRA guidelines and relevant regulatory requirements.
Prepare technical documentation, fragrance evaluation reports, and development records.
Support customer fragrance customization and private label development projects.
Liaise with international suppliers and fragrance manufacturers for new developments.
Monitor product performance and recommend improvements.
Assist in cost optimization without compromising fragrance quality.
Stay updated with global fragrance technologies, ingredients, and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or a related field.
Diploma or certification in Perfumery or Fragrance Science is an advantage.
2–5 years of experience in fragrance development, perfume manufacturing, or cosmetic R&D.
Experience working with fragrance houses or perfume manufacturers is preferred.
Skills
Strong fragrance evaluation and olfactory skills.
Knowledge of fragrance raw materials and essential oils.
Understanding of perfume formulation principles.
Knowledge of IFRA standards and cosmetic regulations.
Strong analytical and research abilities.
Excellent communication and supplier coordination skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Ability to manage multiple development projects simultaneously.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Good English communication skills; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Experience
