Description

Role purpose: Prepare and maintain the project schedule, track actual progress against the approved plan, and provide timely reports and recovery recommendations to support completion within the contractual deadlines.

1. Develop the baseline schedule: Prepare a detailed schedule covering engineering, approvals, procurement, construction, testing, and handover, with clear milestones and activity dependencies.
2. Break down the scope: Organize activities by discipline, area, and measurable quantities, such as excavation, duct banks, cable pulling, equipment installation, and reinstatement.
3. Plan resources and productivity: Coordinate with site engineers to establish manpower, equipment, and productivity requirements for each activity.
4. Prepare look-ahead plans: Issue weekly and two-to-four-week plans identifying work fronts, required resources, materials, drawings, permits, and inspections.
5. Track actual site progress: Collect and verify daily installed quantities, activity start and finish dates, manpower, and equipment usage against site records.
6. Measure planned versus actual performance: Update the schedule and progress curves using agreed quantity-based or weighted progress rules. Show daily, weekly, and cumulative achievement without double counting.
7. Monitor critical activities and constraints: Identify activities affecting completion, track outstanding approvals and deliveries, and assign each constraint an action owner and required resolution date.
8. Analyze delays and prepare recovery plans: Explain schedule variances, forecast completion dates, and coordinate corrective measures with the Project Manager and execution team.
9. Issue progress reports: Provide clear dashboards showing planned versus actual progress, productivity, milestones, delays, site photographs, and priorities for the next reporting period.
10. Maintain change and delay records: Record approved scope changes and delay events, assess their schedule impact, and support time-extension submissions while preserving the original baseline.
