# Job Description – Mobile Crane Operator
**Department:** Warehouse / Logistics
**Location:** Pipe Manufacturing Plant – Dammam Second Industrial City
**Reports To:** Warehouse Supervisor / Operations Supervisor
## Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently operate a mobile crane for lifting, loading, unloading, and moving pipes, materials, and equipment within the factory while complying with approved safety procedures and crane load limits.
## Duties and Responsibilities
* Operate the mobile crane for lifting, loading, and unloading activities.
* Move pipes, materials, and equipment safely to designated locations.
* Perform a daily inspection of the crane before operation.
* Inspect brakes, tires, wire ropes, hooks, hydraulic systems, and warning devices.
* Verify the load weight and ensure it does not exceed the crane’s rated capacity.
* Follow the approved load chart and lifting procedures.
* Position the crane correctly and properly deploy the outriggers before lifting.
* Ensure the lifting area is clear of hazards and unauthorized personnel.
* Coordinate with the rigger, banksman, and ground personnel during lifting operations.
* Follow approved hand signals and stop operations if instructions are unclear.
* Stop lifting immediately if any unsafe condition, malfunction, or hazard is identified.
* Ensure that no personnel stand or pass underneath suspended loads.
* Maintain the cleanliness and basic condition of the crane.
* Report defects, damage, and maintenance requirements immediately.
* Complete daily inspection checklists and operating records.
* Comply with all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
* Wear the required personal protective equipment.
* Perform other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
## Qualifications and Requirements
* Intermediate or secondary school certificate.
* Valid heavy-equipment driving licence or mobile crane operator licence.
* Third-party crane operator certification is preferred.
* Minimum of three years of experience operating mobile cranes.
* Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel, or pipe factories is preferred.
* Good knowledge of crane load charts, lifting signals, and safety procedures.
* Ability to perform daily inspections and identify basic mechanical defects.
* Physically fit and capable of working in an industrial environment.
* Willing to work shifts and overtime when required.
* Basic English skills to understand operating and safety instructions.
## Required Skills
* Strong discipline and attendance.
* High level of concentration and attention to detail.
* Safety awareness and responsible decision-making.
* Effective communication with the lifting team.
* Ability to work under pressure and in field conditions.
* Strict compliance with safety instructions and company procedures.
