KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Pre-Inspection and Preparation Review loop diagrams, P&IDs, wiring schematics, and manufacturer specifications. Perform cold loop checks by verifying cable continuity, correct core tagging, and terminal tightness while the system is de-energized. Confirm proper earthing, cable insulation resistance, and correct signal polarity. Signal Testing and Simulation Execute hot loop checks with active system power to validate loop voltage and device addresses. Inject or simulate calibrated input signals (such as 4–20 mA or digital bus values) from field sensors or transmitters. Coordinate with control room operators to verify that the Distributed Control System (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) matches field inputs accurately. Verification and Documentation Test final control elements like actuators and control valves to ensure they respond precisely to output commands. Validate that software scaling, engineering units, alarm points, and trip interlocks operate correctly on the HMI. Record test data, mark up redline drawings, log punch-list deficiencies, and sign off on loop turnover packages
