Job Summary
The Scaffolding Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, inspecting, and coordinating all scaffolding activities at the project site. The role ensures that scaffolding is erected, modified, dismantled, and maintained safely in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise scaffold erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling activities.
Ensure all scaffolding work complies with project specifications, safety standards, and approved procedures.
Allocate work to scaffold foremen and scaffolders and monitor daily productivity.
Conduct daily inspections of scaffolds and ensure they are tagged and safe for use.
Coordinate with construction, maintenance, and HSE teams regarding scaffolding requirements.
Review scaffold requests and prepare work schedules based on project priorities.
Ensure scaffolding materials are properly stored, inspected, and maintained.
Identify and eliminate unsafe conditions and practices.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings before commencing work.
Maintain records of scaffold inspections, permits, and daily progress reports.
Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, BS EN, or client-specific scaffolding standards.
Report any incidents, hazards, or non-conformities to site management.
Qualifications
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Civil, or Construction Engineering, or equivalent.
Scaffolding Supervisor certification from a recognized training provider.
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years of scaffolding experience, including at least 3 years as a Scaffolding Supervisor.
Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, power plant, or industrial construction projects.
GCC/Saudi Arabia experience is preferred.
Technical Skills
Thorough knowledge of tube & fitting, modular, and system scaffolding.
Ability to read engineering drawings and scaffold plans.
Knowledge of scaffold load calculations and safe working load limits.
Familiarity with scaffold inspection procedures and tagging systems.
Good understanding of construction sequencing and access requirements.
HSE Requirements
Strong knowledge of work-at-height regulations and fall protection.
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and client safety requirements.
Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures.
Promote a zero-incident safety culture.
Preferred Certifications
CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor Certificate (preferred).
OSHA or equivalent safety certification.
Work at Height Training.
First Aid and Fire Watch certificates (preferred).
Soft Skills
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple work fronts.
Preferred Requirements
Experience on Saudi Aramco, SABIC, or major EPC projects is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Saudi Aramco Construction Safety Manual (CSM) and project procedures.
Good English communication skills.
