Job Description: QA/QC Coating Inspector
Department: Operations
Reports To: QA/QC Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Coating Inspector to oversee coating inspection
activities for onshore and offshore projects. The role involves executing inspections, maintaining
quality documentation and ensuring compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of coating processes, strong testing
expertise, and industry-recognized certifications.

Key Responsibilities:
• Execute inspections on materials, equipment, and construction/installation activities for
internal and external field joint coating using robotic and semi-automatic equipment.
• Issue quality records and non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary, submitting
them to the Quality Control Supervisor.
• Maintain daily reports/logs of inspection, surveillance, and intervention activities. Ensure
documentation, plans, reports, and certifications are updated, reviewed, approved, and
filed appropriately.
• Manage storage and certification of consumables.
• Perform qualifications of coating processes.
• Verify coating materials, surface preparation, and coating works (via inspections, testing,
and interventions) are in accordance with ITPs, SATIP/SATR/SAIC, construction quality
programs, and referenced technical documents.
• Review and approve pre-inspection, field joint, and final inspection videos for assigned
projects.
• Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as environmental condition checks, visual
assessments, anchor profile measurement, SCM testing, dust tests, holiday tests, cure
tests, and DFT measurements.
• Conduct destructive testing (adhesion tests, penetration tests, impact tests, DSC
sampling, hardness tests, hot-soak adhesion evaluation, etc.) for industrial and pipeline
coating systems.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Metallurgy, or
Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Coating Inspector.
• NACE Level 2 or BGAS Grade 1 / FROSIO accreditation required.
• Current Offshore BOSIET / Survival Certificate (preferred).
• Valid Seaman’s Book (preferred).
• Must pass IEU Level 2 Coating Inspector examination.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of coating inspection processes, testing methods, and industry
standards.
• Ability to adapt to schedule changes and meet shifting project demands.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands/tools, reach, talk, and hear during inspections.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
• Requires close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus
adjustment.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts; noise levels may be loud—hearing
protection may be required in certain areas.
