Our Home
We are a family of three (Mother and two boys 13 & 11) living in a three-bedroom apartment in North Riyadh (AlRabi). We follow an American-style routine that values cleanliness, organization, punctuality, and independence. English communication skills are essential.
Our home should always feel clean and welcoming. High standards of hygiene and attention to detail are important, with the expectation that rooms remain tidy throughout the day rather than only being cleaned at the end of it.
In addition to maintaining the home, this role includes providing day-to-day oversight of the children's routines while the parent is working. This includes ensuring meals are prepared and served on time, encouraging the children to follow household rules and routines, reminding them to complete their daily chores, and notifying the parent promptly of any concerns, behavioural issues, illness, injuries, or unusual incidents. The role is one of supervision and support—not discipline or parenting.
Daily Responsibilities
Morning (Start of Day)
• Prepare and serve breakfast by 6:00 AM.
• Prepare kids lunches for school by 6:30AM. (during school days)
• Clean and organize the kitchen immediately after breakfast.
• Start 1–2 loads of laundry first thing in the morning.
• Clean and sanitize all bathrooms.
• Make all beds and tidy bedrooms.
• A quick dust of all furniture and surfaces throughout the apartment.
• Sweep and mop all floors across the home.
Throughout the Day
• Prepare dinner by 5:00PM.
• Iron clothing/linens, fold and put away so they are completed by the end of the day.
• Keep the kitchen clean after every meal.
• Monitor household supplies and report anything that needs replacing – in writing (whatsapp or notes)
• Prepare lunch by 1:00PM and ensure the children eat their meals and snacks at the appropriate times.
• Monitor the children's daily routine is being followed, including personal hygiene, homework time (as directed), and household responsibilities.
• Remind the children to complete their assigned chores and encourage respectful behaviour.
• Inform the parent immediately of any illness, injury, behavioural concern, accident, or anything out of the ordinary.
• Provide general supervision while maintaining a safe and positive home environment.
End of Day
• Ensure the kitchen is fully cleaned.
• Wash, dry, and put away all dishes.
• Wipe kitchen surfaces and leave the kitchen ready for the next morning.
• Empty all trash cans and take out the trash.
• Complete a final walkthrough to ensure the home is clean, tidy, and ready for the following day.
Weekend Responsibilities
Weekends are dedicated to deeper cleaning and household maintenance, including:
• Build weekly meal plan and grocery list – with the support of the family & adding the list of missing items through out the week
• Deep clean bathrooms and kitchen.
• Clean all windows.
• Move and clean behind furniture - where practical.
• Clean inside kitchen appliances as needed.
• Organize refrigerator, cupboards, pantry, and storage areas.
• Dust high surfaces, light fixtures, and hard-to-reach areas.
Monthly Responsibilities
On the first weekend of every month, complete the following:
• Wash all bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, and mattress protectors.
• Clean air-conditioner filters and vents.
• Deep clean and organize wardrobes and storage spaces.
• Check and organize household supplies and cleaning materials.
• Report any maintenance issues or repairs that require attention.
Household Standard
Our expectation is simple: the home should be clean, organized, hygienic, and guest-ready every day. Tasks should be completed proactively without waiting for instructions, with pride taken in maintaining a high standard of care for the home and the family.
The housekeeper is also expected to help maintain the family's daily routines by ensuring the children are cared for, meals are provided on time, household expectations are reinforced consistently, and the parent is kept informed of anything requiring attention.
- Salary will be negotiated based on the candidate's experience, skills, and overall capability.
- Salary will be paid upon completion of each 30-day work period. In the event of a genuine emergency requiring an advance or early payment, the request will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Supporting documentation or reasonable evidence may be required.
- Both live-in and live-out arrangements are available but with consideration that working hours begin promptly at 5:30 AM to ensure breakfast is prepared and on the table by 6:00 AM and morning household responsibilities are completed on schedule.
