Job Description (JD)
Job Title: Estimation Engineer – Mechanical
Department: Estimation / Tendering
Industry: Construction / EPC / Oil & Gas / Industrial Projects
Location: Saudi Arabia
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates, quantity take-offs, BOQs, material take-offs, and tender proposals for mechanical construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and BOQs.
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and MTOs for mechanical works.
Prepare accurate material, manpower, equipment and subcontractor cost estimates.
Prepare BOQ and rate analysis for mechanical activities.
Study mechanical drawings and identify the complete scope of work.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare RFQs, quotation comparison sheets and cost summaries.
Analyze material prices, labor rates and equipment costs.
Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions and commercial risks.
Coordinate with Procurement, Engineering, Planning and Construction departments.
Prepare competitive technical and commercial tender submissions.
Assist the Estimation Manager in tender strategy and pricing.
Review vendor and subcontractor quotations for technical compliance.
Maintain updated databases for material prices, labor rates and productivity rates.
Support management during client clarification and commercial negotiations.
Ensure estimates are accurate and submitted within the required deadline.
Mechanical Scope
Experience in estimating some or all of the following:
Mechanical piping fabrication and installation
Equipment installation
Static and rotating equipment
Tanks and vessels
Pumps and compressors
HVAC works
Plumbing and drainage
Fire-fighting systems
Mechanical supports
Insulation and painting
Testing and commissioning
Oil & Gas / Petrochemical / Industrial mechanical works
Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
5–10 years of relevant experience in mechanical estimation and tendering.
GCC/Saudi Arabia experience preferred.
Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or EPC projects preferred.
Strong ability to read mechanical drawings, specifications and BOQs.
Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD and estimation software.
Good knowledge of construction methods, productivity and material pricing.
Strong analytical and commercial skills.
Good command of English communication.
