Job Title: Automobile Supervisor
Location: Saudi Arabia
Department: Fleet / Transport
Reports To: Fleet Manager / Transport Manager
Job Summary
The Automobile Supervisor is responsible for supervising the maintenance, repair, and daily operation of company vehicles and equipment. The role ensures vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and available to support operational requirements while managing technicians, maintenance schedules, and workshop activities.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of the vehicle maintenance workshop.
Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance for all company vehicles.
Assign work to mechanics and technicians and monitor job completion.
Diagnose vehicle issues and ensure repairs are carried out efficiently.
Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and repair history.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Coordinate with vendors for spare parts, repairs, and external services.
Monitor inventory of spare parts, tools, lubricants, and consumables.
Inspect vehicles before and after repairs to ensure quality standards.
Minimize vehicle downtime through effective maintenance planning.
Prepare maintenance reports, cost analyses, and fleet performance reports.
Support breakdown recovery and emergency repair activities.
Ensure compliance with local traffic regulations and fleet management procedures.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Relevant technical certification is an advantage.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in automobile or fleet maintenance.
At least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience with commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, pickups, and heavy equipment is preferred.
GCC/Saudi Arabia experience is an advantage.
Skills
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
Ability to read technical manuals and diagnostic reports.
Leadership and team management skills.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of workshop safety practices.
Computer proficiency (MS Office, fleet management or maintenance software).
Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
Valid Saudi/GCC driving license (preferred).
Automotive diagnostic or manufacturer certifications (Toyota, Isuzu, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, etc.) are an advantage.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and fleet management software.
