Resigned with 30 days notice but employer is asking me to stay 60 — is that normal?

I handed in my resignation and gave the standard 30 days notice, but my manager is pushing back and saying they need 60 days like it's the standard requirement. I thought 30 days was the employee-side notice period and 60 was only when the EMPLOYER is the one ending things, not the other way around. Has anyone dealt with this exact pushback before, and how did you handle the conversation without it turning into a whole conflict?
