Description
Job Summary
The Hyperbaric Chamber Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support of hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers and associated systems. The position ensures that all hyperbaric equipment operates safely, reliably, and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, facility policies, applicable Saudi healthcare requirements, and relevant safety and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
-Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance of hyperbaric chambers and associated equipment.
-Inspect, test, and maintain chamber mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
-Monitor and maintain associated oxygen and compressed air systems, including pipelines, regulators, valves, gauges, alarms, compressors, and related components.
-Conduct routine inspections for pressure integrity, gas leaks, valve functionality, alarm systems, gauges, switches, and other critical safety devices.
-Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and carry out repairs within the technician's authorized competency.
-Coordinate with the chamber manufacturer, authorized service providers, biomedical engineers, or specialized contractors for major repairs and technical support.
-Ensure that preventive maintenance is performed according to the manufacturer's recommendations and maintenance schedules.
-Maintain complete and accurate records of:
Preventive maintenance
Corrective maintenance and repairs
Equipment inspections and testing
Pressure and leak tests
Parts replacement
Equipment downtime
Service reports and technical documentation
Safety and Compliance Responsibilities
-Ensure that hyperbaric chambers and associated equipment are operated and maintained within manufacturer specifications.
-Immediately report any equipment defect, oxygen leak, abnormal pressure reading, alarm failure, or other safety concern.
-Participate in emergency preparedness activities and hyperbaric emergency drills.
-Ensure familiarity with emergency shutdown procedures and isolation of gas and pressure systems.
-Support compliance with applicable CBAHI Facility Management and Safety requirements, hospital policies, and other applicable Saudi regulatory requirements.
-Ensure proper handling, storage, and safety practices for compressed gases and oxygen-related equipment.
-Assist in maintaining a safe hyperbaric treatment environment for patients and staff.
Preferred Requirements
-Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in one of the following:
-Minimum 2–3 years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably involving medical equipment, pressure systems, pneumatic systems, industrial equipment, or hyperbaric chambers.
-Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility in Saudi Arabia.
-Familiarity with CBAHI standards and healthcare facility safety requirements.
-Training or certification related to hyperbaric chamber operation, maintenance, or safety.
-Knowledge of oxygen safety and compressed gas handling.
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
