Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior HVAC Engineer with 10+ years of experience in HVAC design, engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, and project execution.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems and proven experience managing engineering activities for large-scale industrial, commercial, oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead HVAC engineering and design activities from concept through detailed design and commissioning.
Perform and review HVAC cooling-load calculations, equipment selection, duct sizing, chilled-water piping calculations, and ventilation calculations.
Design and review HVAC systems including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, VRF/VRV, package units, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
Prepare and review HVAC layouts, ductwork drawings, piping layouts, equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
Review engineering calculations, shop drawings, material submittals, technical proposals, and vendor documents.
Ensure HVAC designs comply with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IMC/IPC, project specifications, and applicable local codes.
Coordinate HVAC works with electrical, civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, fire protection, and other disciplines.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to HVAC engineers, designers, contractors, and site teams.
Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues, RFIs, design changes, and installation discrepancies.
Supervise and support HVAC installation, testing, balancing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover.
Monitor project progress and ensure HVAC activities meet approved quality, schedule, cost, and HSE requirements.
Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, system optimization, and cost reduction.
Prepare technical reports, calculations, method statements, inspection reports, and other project documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years of professional HVAC engineering experience.
Strong experience in HVAC design, engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning.
Experience with large-scale industrial, commercial, oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, controls, ductwork, chilled-water systems, and ventilation.
Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is preferred.
Strong knowledge of international HVAC standards and codes.
Excellent technical, analytical, communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple engineering deliverables and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in Saudi Arabia / GCC.
Experience with major oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial clients.
Familiarity with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, SEC, or other major client standards is an advantage.
Professional engineering certification is preferred.
