Description

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced MEP Engineer / MEP Coordinator to manage and coordinate MEP activities for commercial, fit-out, retail, showroom, office, and building projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating MEP design and site activities, reviewing drawings and technical documents, supervising installation works, coordinating subcontractors, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that all MEP works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable Saudi regulations, and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
1. MEP Coordination
Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Firefighting, and other MEP services.
Review MEP shop drawings, coordinated drawings, specifications, and material submittals.
Identify and resolve clashes between MEP services and architectural/structural works.
Coordinate MEP requirements with the architectural, structural, civil, and interior fit-out teams.
Participate in technical coordination meetings with the consultant, client, and subcontractors.
Review and coordinate BIM/3D models where applicable.
2. Site Supervision
Supervise and monitor MEP installation works on site.
Ensure works are executed according to approved shop drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
Monitor the quality and progress of MEP works.
Inspect installations before inspection requests are submitted to the consultant/client.
Coordinate site activities to avoid delays and conflicts with other trades.
Ensure proper installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems.
3. HVAC & Mechanical Systems
Coordinate HVAC systems including VRF, split units, package units, ventilation, ductwork, chilled water systems, and related equipment as applicable.
Review HVAC layouts, equipment locations, ductwork, refrigerant piping, drainage, and control requirements.
Coordinate equipment installation and testing.
Verify equipment capacities and technical requirements against approved documents.
4. Electrical Systems
Coordinate electrical power, lighting, emergency lighting, low-current systems, and related installations.
Review electrical layouts, load schedules, DBs, cable routes, containment, and equipment connections.
Coordinate electrical requirements with mechanical equipment and other MEP services.
Monitor installation and testing of electrical systems.
5. Plumbing & Firefighting
Coordinate water supply, drainage, sanitary, stormwater, and related plumbing systems.
Coordinate firefighting piping, sprinkler systems, fire pumps, hose reels, and related works where applicable.
Ensure proper coordination between plumbing/firefighting systems and architectural finishes.
6. Technical Documentation
Review and comment on shop drawings and technical submittals.
Prepare RFIs, technical queries, inspection requests, and site reports.
Review method statements and inspection/test plans.
Assist in preparation and review of as-built drawings.
Maintain MEP technical documentation and records.
Assist the Project Manager in preparing technical reports and progress updates.
7. Subcontractor Management
Coordinate and supervise MEP subcontractors.
Monitor subcontractor manpower, materials, equipment, and productivity.
Ensure subcontractors comply with approved drawings, specifications, HSE requirements, and project schedules.
Follow up on subcontractor progress and identify potential delays.
Verify completed quantities and support the commercial team with progress measurement when required.
8. Testing & Commissioning
Coordinate testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
Review testing and commissioning procedures.
Coordinate inspections with the consultant/client.
Ensure all testing records and commissioning documents are properly maintained.
Support preparation of O&M manuals and project handover documentation.
9. Quality, Health & Safety
Ensure MEP works comply with project quality requirements.
Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections and testing.
Ensure safe execution of MEP activities in accordance with the project HSE plan.
Report unsafe conditions, defective work, and non-conformances.
Ensure compliance with applicable Saudi codes, standards, and authority requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting and construction projects.
Experience in commercial, retail, showroom, office, hospitality, or fit-out projects is preferred.
Saudi Arabia/GCC project experience is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of MEP coordination and site execution.
Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and specifications.
Good knowledge of relevant international standards and Saudi requirements.
