Reports To: Slaughterhouse Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead all maintenance activities across our slaughterhouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing preventive and corrective maintenance strategies, ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, managing the maintenance team, and maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the maintenance department, including technicians and supervisors.
* Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
* Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize production downtime.
* Plan, schedule, and monitor all maintenance activities and shutdowns.
* Supervise troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
* Monitor maintenance KPIs and prepare performance reports.
* Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement requirements.
* Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, environmental, and occupational health & safety regulations.
* Coordinate with Production, Quality, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, cost reduction, and increased equipment efficiency.
* Ensure proper documentation, maintenance records, and equipment history are maintained.
* Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while promoting a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
* Professional certifications in Maintenance Management or Reliability Engineering are an advantage.
Experience
* Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or food processing.
* At least 3 years in a leadership or Maintenance Manager position.
* Previous experience in slaughterhouses, meat processing, poultry, or FMCG manufacturing is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
* Excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
* Experience with CMMS/ERP maintenance systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent planning, organization, and time management abilities.
* Leadership, team management, coaching, and decision-making skills.
* Good communication skills in Arabic and English.
