Description
Logistics Dispatcher / Controller
Coordinate and dispatch trucks, trailers, buses, and drivers according to daily transportation requirements.
Prepare and communicate daily trip schedules, routes, loading times, and delivery instructions to drivers.
Monitor vehicle movements and driver locations through GPS tracking systems.
Coordinate with customers, loading points, unloading locations, and operations teams to ensure smooth transportation.
Follow up on loading, unloading, delivery, and arrival status and provide regular updates.
Handle delays, breakdowns, route changes, traffic issues, and other operational problems promptly.
Maintain daily dispatch records, trip sheets, delivery status, and vehicle utilization reports.
Ensure drivers follow assigned routes, company procedures, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with the maintenance team regarding vehicle breakdowns, defects, and required repairs.
Monitor driver working hours, idle time, rest periods, and trip completion.
Verify trip documents, delivery notes, waybills, permits, and other required transportation documents.
Communicate with customers regarding vehicle arrival times, delivery status, and operational issues.
Coordinate replacement vehicles or drivers when required to avoid service interruptions.
Prepare daily and weekly operational reports covering trips completed, delays, idle time, and vehicle availability.
Ensure all dispatch activities are properly recorded in the transportation management system or company ERP.
