This is a live production environment, so the candidate must work carefully and ensure that the existing production server and services are not affected.
We are looking for an experienced Freelance IT/System Engineer for a server backup and disaster recovery project.
Project Responsibilities:
- Study and understand the existing production server architecture.
- Review server configuration, RAID/storage, Ubuntu OS, network settings, and running services.
- Configure the Dell PowerEdge R760xs as a backup server.
- Set up backup, synchronization, or replication between the production and backup server.
- Configure automated backup schedules.
- Perform backup verification and restore/recovery testing.
- Ensure the backup server is working correctly during failure/recovery scenarios.
- Prepare basic technical documentation.
- Support the UAT phase and demonstrate the working backup solution.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu/Linux servers.
- Experience with Dell PowerEdge servers and RAID configuration.
- Practical knowledge of server backup, synchronization, replication, and disaster recovery.
- Experience working with live production environments.
- Min 5 years of experience required
Project Duration & Budget
- Maximum Duration: 8 Hours
- Budget: 2,000 SAR
- The candidate must be able to complete the required work within the agreed 8-hour timeframe.
