Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

Jobs Description:
We are looking to hire a skilled diesel mechanic to work in our sites, will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. They ensure that engines and systems operate efficiently and safely, performing regular maintenance and troubleshooting any mechanical issues. This role typically involves working with trucks, buses, and heavy machinery used in our sites.

To ensure success as a diesel mechanic, you should have extensive knowledge of modern vehicular systems, have a good eye for detail, and be able to problem-solve complex problems. Ultimately, a top-notch diesel mechanic can install, troubleshoot and repair any mechanical problem in a diesel-powered vehicle or equipment.

Diesel Mechanic Responsibilities:
1. Inspection & Diagnostics
o Examine vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical issues.
o Use diagnostic tools and software to assess engine performance and malfunctions.
2. Maintenance & Repair
o Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
o Repair or replace defective parts including engines, transmissions, and fuel systems.
3. Record Keeping
o Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted.
4. Testing & Quality Control
o Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure proper function.
o Ensure repairs meet safety and performance standards.
5. Tool & Equipment Management
o Operate and maintain tools and diagnostic equipment.
o Follow safety procedures and regulations while using heavy tools and machinery.
6. Customer Communication
o Communicate issues, repair plans, and time estimates to supervisors or clients.

Requirements:
1. Education & Certification
o High school diploma or equivalent (required).
o Technical certification or vocational training in diesel mechanics (preferred).
o ASE Diesel Certification (needed).
2. Experience
o Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or technician.
o Experience with various diesel engines and heavy equipment.
3. Other Requirements
o Valid driver’s license (commercial license may be required depending on the employer).
o Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
