Description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented CNC Laser Cutting Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will set up, calibrate, and operate CNC laser cutting machines to process sheet metal and structural materials according to technical drawings and engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Operation: Load material sheets, select/load CNC programs, adjust cutting gas settings, and operate fiber/CO2 laser machines.
Drawing & File Verification: Interpret blueprints, CAD/CAM drawings, nesting, and work orders to determine accurate cutting paths and tolerances.
Quality Control: Perform visual and dimensional inspections of cut parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; deburr edges as needed.
Routine Maintenance: Clean optics/nozzles, align laser beams, perform daily preventive maintenance, and report mechanical/software issues.
Inventory & Handling: Safely load/unload material plates using overhead cranes or forklifts; log job completions and scrap usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High School Diploma, Vocational/ITI Certification, or Trade School qualification in Mechanical/Machining fields.
Experience: Minimum []2-3+] years operating CNC laser cutting machines (Bystronic, TRUMPF, Amada, Mazak, or similar).
Skills:
Proficiency in reading technical blueprints, AutoCAD drawings, and G-code basics.
Familiarity with sheet metal gauges, laser parameters, and assist gases (Oxygen, Nitrogen).
Strong dimensional measurement and precision inspection capabilities.
Physical & Safety: Ability to lift heavy materials and strictly adhere to industrial safety and PPE standards.
